I missed it !

I’m still looking forward to the complete instructional video and know I will love it. One of my hopes for 2024 was to learn to make bread and even though my progress is not swift, I did make a major step toward conquering that goal. I signed up! I have also ordered some of the original sour dough starter from Oregon Trail Sourdough ! Another reason I signed up for the class hinged on the fact that I’m related to Nici Holt Cline !! And wanted to see her in action.

We Will Still Make Bread

For years, I’ve been too intimidated by sourdough to try my hand at it. This workshop made it easy and approachable, and answered all my questions. The guide is a wonderful resource to have too. Nici’s repeated assurance that “we will still make bread” (even if things don’t go perfectly) lives on repeat in my head. I worried my starter wasn’t ready for the class, yet to my surprise and delight made two beautiful, delicious boules. The next week, making them on my own, I thought I made several “mistakes” and worried they wouldn’t turn out… nope, delicious again! This workshop exceeded my expectations and I’d highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn the art of sourdough.

Well worth the investment!

I wasn’t sure if I could commit to a whole day of instruction with two kiddos at home, but I’m so glad I did! It was a casual come and go schedule, and I learned so much. In the three weeks since the class I’ve made sourdough twice, sandwich bread, crackers and cinnamon rolls! This class gave me valuable information and perhaps more importantly, the confidence to bake all things sourdough on my own! Thank you!

The best way to spend the day!

This workshop was so wonderful. I wasn't sure if it would feel like a really long day on Zoom but it honestly flew by! The content was so informative and Nici and Kara were incredible. The live step-by-step was SO helpful and the bread at the end of the day was delicious! This has really inspired me to keep going with this fun sourdough journey and I'm so grateful that they took the time to share their expertise. Thank you again!!

Two Loaves & a Full Heart

I have never baked bread before. This class is a resource I will come back to again and again. It cured any intimidation I was feeling about the process with expert instruction and a reminder that patience and attention are the solution to almost every problem. The added bonus of participation is the community created through a deeper understanding of our connection to generations of bakers through "the mother." Thank you for this!

Sourdough Bread Making

100% SOOOOO good! Like can’t even gush about it enough!!! My twin sister & I had started the sourdough journey together- she unexpectedly died and I vowed to perfect this in her memory! We had so many fails! This live walk through made a huge difference for me & I ended up with 2 beautiful loaves of bread!

Exceeded my expectations!

Nici and Kara’s bread-baking workshop is excellent and definitely exceeded my expectations in terms of length of time, ease of understanding, and personal attention. The day flew by but the pace of the course was perfect. It was great to work alongside each other and have lots of examples from fellow students. The technique and outcome were much simpler than I anticipated and absolutely alleviated all of my reservations about sourdough baking. It can be done! Nici and Kara answered everyone’s questions/concerns, were thorough and made the day so much fun! I’d highly recommend this course to anyone (experienced baker or beginner) looking to up their bread game! Thanks to both of you for a great experience!

The Heart of Sourdough

What a fabulous Sunday, learning from two masters and surrounded by a group of baking students! Nici and Kara were gracious, funny, super organized, and so encouraging through the whole class. The handout was excellent. Even now, two months later, I still hear their voices as I work with my dough. “What’s your dough telling you? Take your time. Take your dough with you. Make notes. You’ll still have bread!” I loved this experience and totally recommend it to anyone interested in sourdough bread!

So worth it.

Sourdough bread always intimidated me. I've made other breads before (who hasn't made bread of some form during the pandemic?) but sourdough always seemed "next level." But Nici and Kara do such an amazing job of making it easy to understand along with creating this really supportive and nourishing environment for the whole process. All the documentation is great and the actual live workshop is awesome! Nici and Kara aren't just creating bread, they are creating a community. They are so supportive and encouraging along the way. They acknowledge there may be mistakes and that's ok, at the end of the day we'll still have nutritious bread. Kara had a quote during the workshop that stuck with me, "Sometimes you just have to get your hands in the dough." And that can mean so much more than making bread, but life in general. Get out there and 'get your hands in the dough' and live life and have wonderful experiences. This Sourdough Workshop is one of those experiences, so do it, it's so worth it and you will not be disappointed! Thanks again for a great time!
