Fantastic!

This was so helpful in helping me to understand how gardening works. I have a small patch of ground that I started last year and I have no other experience. It’s really helpful to have a place to go with all the information I need, it would have taken hours and hours of searching to find the information that’s in this handy packet. So thankful for people who are willing to share their expertise!

Super helpful!

Not too much information, but enough to get started and not feel overwhelmed! There’s so much stuff on the internet and in books that leads me down lots of rabbit holes, so this little guide is perfect for me!

Not what I expected

This was not what I had hoped for. I found it super basic, and I am by no means a master gardener. I am a beginner but I found a lot of the answers were more along the lines of “just see what works for you” or “sometimes you just have to try and figure it out”. I didn’t find many hard and concrete answers. I was hoping it could be a reference and I didn’t find that.

DIG + CO.

Hi Clare, Thanks for taking the time to give us feedback. I'm bummed the guide didn't meet your expectations. It was not my intention to give 'concrete answers' in a general resource like this, given the issues that might come up specific to your soil, climate, exposure, plants grown etc. My hope is that this guide is a foundational, empowering tool upon with which you can find the answers to your questions. Gardening is definitely a puzzle, with the rules changing every season. It is indeed a 'sometimes you just have to try' situation. That said, if there are specific things you're looking for, I'm here to answer. :) The facebook forum is an especially great resource! I check in about once a week there, replying to questions.

Pure Gold

Thank you for the gardening manual. Those 17 pages are PURE GOLD for a novice like me. You will learn the fundamentals of starting your own vegetable garden but won’t be overwhelmed. The gardening manual is PURE GOLD for a novice like me. Tips about soil conditions/preparation, companion gardening, what to grow.... all tidbits that make vegetable gardening accessible to all. Who knew burlap from our local coffee roaster was the answer to weeds in my garden paths? Now, my paths are covered with burlap. I did not attend the class live but viewed the video later. I found that reading the manual first was very helpful. And less than a week later---my soil was prepped, and 8 tomato plants are in the ground! Like Nici's other workshops, she generously shares her years of experience, knowledge, and heart with participants. I highly recommend this workshop. In less than two hours, you will be armed with all information needed to start growing your own food.

I planted my garden today, holding onto those pages with my dirty hands, like my garden depended on it!! I learned SO much, it would not have been the same without you

A gardening jackpot!

This gardening guide is a real jackpot of information that has taught me SO much more than I expected. My husband and I have been seat-of-our-pants gardeners for several years now so I wasn’t sure how much we would truly stand to gain from it but we both poured over every single page and were so amazed at how much it has to offer! Not only is it extremely readable and well organized, it is visually appealing with wonderful diagrams and images to compliment the flow. I know we will be keeping it on hand and coming back to it time and time again for reference. Our favorite part? The section on including your kids in your gardening adventures to inspire love and learning - we can’t wait to get started planning our family garden together! This guide easily gets five stars from us!!

Everything I needed to know to start my garden!

I've had many failed attempts at gardening over the past decade and I had nearly given up until I found Nici. I watched her gardening adventures on Instagram stories and felt inspired to try again, especially now that my kids want to be involved. Nici's guide is gorgeous, easy to follow and only contains the info I really need to know. I can tell she poured her heart into it and I'm already well on my way to creating my own little garden at home. Thank you, Nici!

Thank you for your time and knowledge!

Nici, First, thank you so much for taking time to offer something like this live workshop! I was diligently scratching away on my notepad as I am fairly new to gardening! A lot of the information was very helpful...in particular the info about WHERE to plant things and WHAT to plant together and WHY things go wrong. Last summer I planted ***** nilly and had about 100 cucumbers, 3 carrots, a few handfuls of spinach and one snap pea...ha! The laid back, conversational vibe was great, as well as actually showing us your garden set up (with a well timed grazing deer in the background, I might add...don't know if you noticed that!) I'm also glad that you went over time without a second thought. Those of us "live" with you were all in (at least that's what it looked like to me!) and I think it would have felt abrupt if you would have stopped at 75 mins as planned. Off to learn more about my zone and investigate some plant starts from the local nursery! Thank you, thank you.
